Does a great job removing contaminants from our refrigerator water. It tastes crisp & clean. Far cry from tap water. Difficult to install however, requires reaching up in an odd posture.

I replaced the water filter with the new one I bought from your outfit and successfully ran 2 gallons of water through, then it mysteriously shut off my water at the refrigerator. After reinstalling the new filter nearly a dozen times with no change, I gave up. Many hours later I noticed that the water mysteriously came back on … for how long I have no idea. It was a lot of money to have my water and thus, ice maker shut off. It would be helpful to have a bypass which did not come with my tecently purchased refrigerator.

Matches model # but doesn't fit!!

My GE refrigerator model # PFE28RSHGSS, serial # RF512534 tells me that the water filter # is RPWFE … but it doesn't fit!! My husband has to take a box cutter & cut off a tab in order for it to fit. I understand that this model # has been upgraded for this specific reason. Pls tell me the upgrade # so I can order it for my fridge.

Cracked water filter

When we received the water filter it looked fine, we installed it and it worked for less than a day. The refrigerator was full of water. When we pulled it out, it was cracked at the connection base. Unfortunately, the refrigerator water and ice features do not function without the water filter. We pulled the old one out of the trash to see if it could be used until another replacement came. It was also cracked.

For my brand new GE refrigerator I prefer to buy only genuine GE water filters. I tried an off-brand and it was a waste of money. Slow discharge, stuff in my ice cubes. Not doing that again. GE filter easy to install. Buy only genuine GE filters.

The hardest water filter to install!!! I broke the first one that took two weeks to get from GE. So I ordered another from Amazon and got it the next day. I called an appliance repair to install it because I didn't want to pay $53 for another. GE needs to change out this type of water filter. It's just AWFUL!

I have two GE refrigerators that use this filter. I have been using them for 8 years and always had great tasting water. I had to change one out early Feb. and the water tasted so bad I returned it to Home Depot and purchased another. That was slightly better at first but now it is just about undrinkable. Not sure what to do now.
